Phil Tippett's CREATURE NOTEBOOK
FROM 'JURASSIC PARK'
Phil Tippett's Printed Creature Notebook was used during the production of 'Jurassic Park.' It was originally won at an online auction by the late Astrid Vega in October 2016. It included over 100 pages that contain reports updating the production team on the status of the designs and the construction of the models and puppets. Also included are ILM miniature shot lists, effects shot list, contact list, memos, calendars, and scene breakdowns noting required EFX and style of puppet. Printed sketches of each dinosaur are also included. As a special bonus, Derrick Davis has included a raptor illustration by "Crash" that was colored by hand. Derrick acquired this from someone who had won another auction. It features the color scheme used for the pre-viz go-motion raptor puppets that Tippett was tasked with creating. The entire contents of the notebook, and this "raptor" bonus, were scanned for digital preservation, and made available here for research purposes. They are organized by date.
